It's been a month. I'm already bad at keeping this thing up. Oops.
This past month has been so good to me. The election show was nothing shy of a success, although the results of the election weren't necessarily good, but any results from the election at all were going to be upsetting, to be honest.
I have done so much. Over Thanksgiving break, I got my first color commentary experience of my college career alongside the seasoned professional, Josh Croup. It was a double header against Penn State Fayette. Both the women's and men's teams won, although Josh and I were late due to extensive traffic the ENTIRE way. (Josh does NOT do well in stressful situations, and also does not like being late to anything, ever. That car ride was frightening.) I have since done a women's game against Wilberforce (Carly Forse scored her 1,000th point that game), exactly a week after the double header, and just yesterday I did color commentary for the men's loss to Washington Adventist, who is nationally ranked. Washington Adventist had this one guy on their team, Brian Bridgeforth, and he is 6'10". Point Park doesn't have a player that tops 6'5", so you can imagine how that went. It was an exciting and surprisingly close game nonetheless (102-92) and I can't wait to continue broadcasting games this season.
I am officially done with classes as of next Wednesday. My first semester of college is nearly over and time has flown by too quickly. PPU has been entirely too good to me since my arrival. The last episode of Sideline is on Thursday after Daybreak and EOP are done, this episode just a farewell to the seniors that have put so much into the show throughout their years here. Next semester will be very different, considering a lot of the people that go on a regular basis now will be leaving for much bigger and better things.
Honestly, I'm dreading break. I don't want to have to leave all of my friends from school, or my school in general. I already know that being home for 3 weeks is going to be too long. I'm ready for next semester, and I can't wait to see what it has in store for me. Until next time though,
Have a fantastic night.
