These weeks consisted of three games with the Pens hosting the Edmonton Oilers, the New York Ranger, and finally the San Jose Sharks.
Since the trade deadline is coming up, the interns have been busy getting everything ready for the plethora of scouts that have been coming to the games recently. Press row has been practically full for all of the games as of late.
We have also been helping Emma, the graduate assistant, with graphic critiques and stats for the Stadium Series, which is being played at Lincoln Financial Center in Philadelphia as I am typing this.
Other than the addition of the Stadium Series things, it was business as usual for the interns this week.
At the end of the 4-0 blowout that the Pens suffered against the Sharks last game, I got to experience a truly angry Sully post-game, which was equally scary and fun. It is so interesting to see the difference in atmosphere that occurs from a Pens win to a Pens shutout loss like that. (Although, I really hope we do not have to experience it again.)
Weird coincidence, but there are not any home Pens games during Point Park's spring break, so I get a little break from work for the next week.
I am definitely looking forward to finishing out the season - and the semester - at PPG Paints!
